Students and faculty at the Staten Island campus gathered on Thursday, September 2, to celebrate the opening of the Da Silva Academic Center, a three-story, ultra-modern facility with classrooms, student lounges, computer labs, a communications arts suite, a multimedia production lab, and faculty offices. The 37,000-square-foot structure, with a two-story atrium, was made possible through the generous support of Mr. Leon DaSilva, whose late son, John, a 1980 St. John's graduate, lost his life in an automobile accident. The images below convey the high-tech beauty of this new structure.
