Robert Wile began his career at St. John’s
University in 1999 and currently serves as Senior Vice President
and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President. As Senior Vice
President he is a member of the President’s Cabinet and oversees
all Athletics, Development and Alumni Relations activities at the
University.
Mr. Wile has been serving as Chief of Staff to the President since
2004. In this role he is responsible for the Offices of Community
Relations, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Government
Relations, Media Relations and University Events. He functions as
the principal liaison between the President and all constituencies
and provides oversight for the Office of the President and the
other executive offices of the University.
Mr. Wile has traveled extensively in his capacity as a senior St.
John’s administrator, organizing and participating in meetings and
events with dignitaries such as the King of Thailand, Bhumibol
Adulyadej; the former President of the Republic of Italy, Carlo
Ciampi; and the President of the Republic of Ireland, Mary
McAleese. Reflecting the University’s Vincentian commitment to the
service of others, he currently serves as a member of the Board of
Directors and Chairman of the Development Committee for St. John’s
Bread and Life, a soup kitchen and family health services
organization in Brooklyn, NY, and as an advisor to the Next
Generation Foundation. He is a 1999 graduate of St. John’s, which
he attended with the assistance of an athletic scholarship for
soccer. During his sophomore year he was a member of the first NCAA
national soccer championship team in University history. Mr. Wile
resides in Haworth, NJ, with his wife Gabrielle and son
Jackson.
