Tobin Graduate Intensive Foundations Workshop
This four-day workshop over two weekends is designed to standardize the basic business quantitative analytical skills of entering non-business undergraduate students who join the MBA program. It is also suitable for others who feel that they need a refresher in the fundamentals of business studies. We are hopeful that you will take this opportunity to bond with other students and our faculty, to begin your time at St. John’s with both a sense of camaraderie and “fun.”
The TGIF Workshop will meet each day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break (lunch will be provided). No textbooks are required. Please bring a laptop.
The classes will take place in the Business Incubator Lab on the ground floor of Bent Hall on the Queens Campus.
- Sept. 8 (Friday): Basic statistics, excel, math for business, and a tour of the Business Analytics Lab on the first floor and learning how to use the facility.
- Sept. 9 (Saturday): Basic financial accounting statements and cash flows analysis.
- Sept. 15 (Friday): The Case Method with in-class case analysis.
- Sept. 16 (Saturday): Finance fundamentals, time value of money, business economics, and a short lecture on the Vincentian Mission.
