Transitioning from St. John’s Central to MySJU  -   9 to 10:15 a.m.
Explore the new interface and course environment in MySJU. We will examine the new terminology and compare the tools in St. John’s Central and MySJU.  Managing course files and building course content in MySJU will be covered.

Teaching Hybrid/Blended Courses - 10:30 to Noon
The hybrid/blended course model combines face-to-face instruction with learning opportunities created online. But what parts of your course should you put on-line and which should you keep in-class?  Do you deliver your course content on-line and keep in-class time for working on exercises, or should it be the other way around? What about flipped classroom models? Can you re-imagine the divide  between content delivery and exercises? There is no correct answer to these questions; everything depends on your teaching style, your subject and your familiarity with certain on-line tools. This  workshop will look briefly at some of the tools in Blackboard which can help with hybrid classes, but it will also try to help current or potential hybrid teachers think through some of the structural issues of course design.  If possible, please bring your syllabi, hard copy or on a laptop, with goal and learning outcomes.

Lunch -  Noon to 1 pm
Emerging Technologies Demo
From using an iPad, Chromebook, or Surface in the classroom to 3D printing, here is your chance to get a close up look at a few technology tools that you may want to incorporate into your teaching. You can also signup to pilot these technologies in your course and report back to your colleagues on your experiences.

What Is New in Blackboard? - 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Blackboard 9.1 (SP14) has many new and improved features to enhance your students’ learning. This workshop will take a look at these enhancements and how you can use them in your courses.
