Memorial Service for Pamela Shea-Byrnes, D.Min.
As most of you are aware, St. John's has been deeply affected by the loss of Pamela Shea-Byrnes, D.Min., Vice President for University Ministry and University Events and one of our community's most dedicated and esteemed members. Pam died suddenly and unexpectedly on Christmas Eve day. Hundreds of her friends and colleagues waited for hours at Macken Mortuary to pay their respects during her wake, and St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre was filled to overflowing during her funeral, which was a poignant, faith-filled tribute to the extraordinary impact that Pam had on all whose lives she touched.
During those sad days, St. John's decided to provide an opportunity for members of our University community to celebrate Pam's life at a Memorial Mass. We will hold that Mass at the start of the spring semester, when the students, whom she loved and served so well, have returned to campus. Details for the Mass have now been finalized and are presented below:
Date: Wednesday, January 29, 2014
Place: St. Thomas More Church
Time: 12:15 p.m.
A reception will follow in the D'Angelo Center, room 416.
I invite all members of the St. John's family to be present for this celebration. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to the Office of University Events, at email@example.com, ext. 6365, or online.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.
Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., President
