His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote, “Walk in Their Shoes” is an inspiring tribute to the power of compassion and education: the keys to leading a meaningful life.”  

Jim Ziolkowski, author and founder of buildOn, the organization chronicled in “Walk in Their Shoes” will be on the Queens campus on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. He will speak at 4:30 p.m. (location will be posted closer to the date) and will be available for a book signing immediately following. Please register for this event.  

buildOn students have contributed more than 1.2 million hours of service, from Detroit and the South Bronx to Haiti, Mali, and Nepal, while building more than six hundred schools world-wide. Join us on September 23 to learn how you can work with buildOn at St. John’s University to advance this movement to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations transforming communities through service and education.
