On Sunday, October 16th, the St. John’s University Office of
Community Relations hosted our first Antique Automobile Show. With
over 150 historic automobiles parked in the lot near Belson Stadium
and Carnesecca Arena and hundreds of spectators, the show was a
great success. There were cars, motorcycles, hot rods and trucks
from every era. Raffles were held with prizes donated by local
merchants.
The show was co-sponsored by the Jamaica Estates Association and
the Antique Auto Club of Greater New York. A portion of the
proceeds was given to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making
Strides against Breast Cancer and the Hillcrest Branch of the
Queens Borough Public Library.
