Under a bright August sky, administrators and staff enjoyed an
al fresco lunch on Carnesecca Plaza as the Office of Marketing and
Communications held its Second Annual BBQ to thank their clients
and colleagues in the University community.
Sammartino, Ph.D., Vice President for Marketing and
Communications, noted that these relationships have been
especially important this past year as the University has worked to
rebrand. “It’s been an exciting time for all of us, as we launch
the University’s new
brand platform and graphic identity,” Sammartino told the
guests. “Your input helped ensure the success of our efforts as we
begin a new chapter in the SJU story.”
Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., the new Interim President of St.
John’s, personally greeted a number of faculty and staff as he
joined the nearly 200 guests. Along with traditional barbeque fare,
guests were treated to cookies decorated with SJU’s new logo and
participated in a trivia contest on the University’s history.
St. John’s began rolling out its refreshed graphic identity this
summer across a variety of communications and campus facilities.
The new look incorporates input from the entire University
community, gained during a yearlong brand research study. The
