ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW seeks entry-level or pre-tenure lateral candidates for the 2018-2019 academic year. We are looking for strong scholars and are open to a wide variety of teaching interests, though we do have particular needs in corporate and transactional courses (including Business Organizations), Immigration Law, Evidence, Administrative Law, Trusts and Estates, Contracts, and Torts. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarship, show teaching potential, and possess an excellent academic record.
St. John’s Law School is part of St. John’s University, a Catholic and Vincentian institution with campuses in New York, Rome, and Paris, that is committed to academic excellence and service to those lacking economic, physical, or social advantages. We have a collegial faculty, committed students, strong support for scholarship, and an active alumni network. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we encourage women and minorities to apply. The Law School is located in New York City in the borough of Queens, which in 2014 was recognized as the most diverse urban county in the United States. Diversity of all kinds is welcomed and encouraged at the Law School, which benefits from student organizations like the Black Law Students Association, Latino American Law Students Association, South Asian Law Students Association, the Gay and Lesbian Law Association, and others.
Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, writing sample, the names of three references, and teaching evaluations (if available) to Professor Christopher Borgen, Chair, Faculty Appointments Committee, at email@example.com.
