Lunch and Learn Series

Audience: Administrators whose primary responsibility is managing a St. John’s University function and supervising Staff and/or Administrators

Each 90-minute session consists of a presentation followed by discussion in a casual and friendly environment. Participants will also have the opportunity to network and share their experiences with other managers.

The series is also designed to assist managers in understanding how the Vincentian Mission and the University’s Core Values are reflected in our policies and work practices and how they can further articulate and integrate the Mission and Values day to day in their responsibilities as managers.

Some topics include:

  • Handling Employee Leaves and Reasonable Accommodation
    • What do you, as managers, need to do if your employee is out sick for more than five consecutive days? What type of paperwork needs to be completed? What is my responsibility as a Supervisor? Please join us to learn the answers to these questions and more about the Family and Medical Leave Act.
  • Put Policy Into Practice
    • Are you a newly hired or newly promoted manager? If so, attend this session to make sure you are aware of everything you need to know to be an effective manager at St. John’s

      • Important St. John’s policies and procedures.
      • How to get things done at St. John’s.
      • A greater awareness of Performance Management and Corrective Action.
      • About future management trainings that you should attend.
