Advisement, Course Schedule, and Registration

DLIS prides itself as a tightly knit, collaborative community that supports its students from the prospective admissions stage through graduation and beyond. Our faculty and staff offer students advising and guidance that supports their academic, personal and professional growth.

Advising and mentoring are available with specialists eager to find the information you need and offer sound advice that will propel you to achieve your academic goals.

Advisement
Students have the benefit of professional and academic advisement from faculty.  Faculty are available for current and prospective students by phone or e-mail or in person by appointment or during established group advising sessions or walk-in hours prior to registration at the beginning of each semester. They are the best resource for navigating course selections and development of a personal career path.   For DLIS and University policies, our Administrative Assistants are always eager to assist.  They are ready and eager to assist you with filling out forms and paperwork and navigating other university offices/services such as Financial Aid, International Services, etc.

Students will meet with their assigned advisor in October prior to registration for the Spring semester and in March prior to the Summer and Fall semester. New students will need to have their initial Plan of Study reviewed by the Director.  Otherwise, students should feel free to consult their advisors on an as-needed basis.
